Toshiba introduces the Satellite A665 - a 3D capable laptop

The Satellite A665 supports NVIDIA 3D Vision™ and is the industry's first1 laptop ready to play Blu-ray 3D Format

SINGAPORE, 7th June 2010 - Toshiba's Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, today announced its first laptop that provides gamers with a true 3D experience. The new Satellite A665 is also able to playback videos stored on a Blu-Ray 3D Disc.

2D games turn into true-to-life 3D worlds
"Our new 3D-enabled Satellite A665 allows gamers to become completely immersed into the exciting 3D environments of their games, most of which are already 3D-compatible." said Ms. Wong Wai Meng, Senior Manager of Product Marketing, Toshiba's Computer Systems Division. "Furthermore the Satellite A665 is the industry's first1 Blu-ray 3D ready laptop, allowing customers to play back Blu-ray 3D content, including movies and games, on the internal display2."

Powerful video and audio experience
Bundled with NVIDIA® 3D Vision™3, the Satellite A665 comes with a pair of 3D Vision™ active-shutter glasses coupled with a wide-range infra-red emitter to deliver stereoscopic images with clarity, brightness and outstanding depth-of-field. The Satellite A665 works with NVIDIA® 3D Vision™, NVIDIA's 3D toolkit with active shutter glasses, USB infrared transceiver and dedicated 3D drivers. The laptop also features a high-performance NVIDIA® 3D graphics processing unit and a 15.6" Clear SuperView HD 3D display with LED backlighting (120Hz). The Satellite A665 comes with Harman Kardon® stereo speakers and Dolby® Advanced Audio to complement the extraordinary optical experience with a voluminous, vibrant sound. The 'Sleep and Music' function allows customers to enjoy this sound experience by connecting MP3 players to the system - even when it's switched off.

Eye-catching metallic looks
The new Satellite A665 is characterized by a Metallic Premier Black finish with silver chrome accents on the LCD cover and inside. A textured pattern contrasts nicely with the metallic look, making fingerprints less visible. The matt black tile keyboard is backlit, allowing you to experience uncompromising typing comfort even in the dark.

Sustainable and eco-friendly
Toshiba is committed to effectively reduce the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. The process of Vacuum Metallizing for the new metallic design is environmentally friendly, too. In addition, the Toshiba Eco utility helps to reduce power consumption. The Satellite A665 is ENERGY STAR® 5.0 qualified.
